Innovative Custom Homes was established in 1983 by the firm’s owner, Robert
Gutheinz, a residential building contractor with more than thirty years of hands-on
experience.
Robert began his career in the 1960s, preparing building lots in the Whitesboro
area. He spent a number of years as a building and remodeling contractor in
the New York City/New Jersey area. Robert then went north to Lake Placid to
help build multi-million dollar homes that were being constructed just prior
to the 1980 Winter Olympics. There he worked with Swedish carpenters, Austrian
masons, and Scottish cabinet makers, learning world-class techniques from some
of the world’s best craftspeople.
More than merely the head of his company, Robert is intimately involved with
every building project, working alongside his crew each day, giving your home
his undivided attention from start to finish.
